We are starting the new year with our own New Year resolutions and one of these may be enjoying the outdoors. Our gem in Houston is Memorial Park. Join us Tuesday, January 8 as we have Shellye Arnold, President and CEO of the Memorial Park Conservancy, update us on this beautiful park with her presentation: Memorial Park: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

As President & CEO of Memorial Park Conservancy (MPC), Shellye Arnold leads the charge to restore, preserve and enhance Memorial Park for the enjoyment of all Houstonians today and for generations to come. Since joining MPC in 2013, Shellye has managed the creation and adoption one of the nation’s largest and most visionary urban park restorations, launched its associated capital campaign, initiated project execution and transitioned the management and operations of 1,100 acres of Memorial Park to the Conservancy. Additionally, under her leadership, MPC has grown from a three-person organization with a $500K budget to a 30-person organization with $15M of annual spend. A true team player, Shellye credits all these accomplishments to the collaborative efforts of MPC’s staff, board and partners. Not only is she the force behind Memorial Park, she is also a Girl Scout leader to the oldest troop in Houston.

We look forward to having this amazing woman kick off our new year at TPG.
